The Staub rice spoon, or shamoji in Japanese, is a large flat spoon used to stir and serve rice. The Japanese name literally means "rice paddle", which is reflected in the shape. Of course, the rice spoon can also be used for other granular foods such as couscous or polenta and it's also great for ice cream.
